The staff at reception and in the hotel is very friendly. When we arrived in the evening we were told the price of breakfast, which I didn't book as it was expensive, especially as my son and I don't eat much. In the morning I was informed that breakfast was free for my son 12 so I decided it was good value for money. It would have been nice to have been informed of this when we arrived. Rooms small, but functional. Free breakfast for my son aged Girl on reception very helpful. Luggage storage available. It would have been nice to have access to a kettle in the room.
The breakfast selection was good, enjoyed the variety of breads, cereals and fruit. I loved the 2 big pillows and warm duvet. Room quite small compared to other hotels for the same price. Very good location, very nice breakfast and extremely clean. Staff polite and very helpful. The room was very small for two people, but what makes it worth it is the central placement of the hotel, since most of the time we were out exploring.
How does it work?
Breakfast was wonderful, the staff is very friendly, the hotel is clean and functional. The room was a little small To be fair: we were expecting it to be that size as everything is correctly listed on the website, this is just a FYI. The Hotel is very well located, close to the center of the city. Breakfast buffet was huge and everything was fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful.
However extremely good value and great location! Sensible and cosy vibe. Nice communal area, hot drinks available for free. Small but well equipped room, with hairdryer and TV, desk was useful. No wardrobe but some hooks and hangers for wet clothes. Location was great, 5 mins walk from main shopping street Storgata. Parking was also very close.

The pillows are too soft. It would be even better to have a few different options for guests to make their selection. A good nights sleep is very dependent on the pillow.
Great breakfast - lots of choice. Free tea and coffee, fantastic for filling up a thermos before heading out on a day trip. The restaurant and check in area felt friendly and warm. Location is excellent. You are literally max 5 minutes walk in any direction to the main tour meeting points usually at hotels on the marina and very close to all points of interest in the city of Tromso.
While the rooms are tiny, they are well thought out and the main things - mattress and shower, are both excellent. Just be aware there is no wardrobe or chest of drawers, but you can use the hanging points provided on the wall and the little pull out drawer under the bed, for these purposes. We arrived late at night, around , and paid for our stay.
However, after paying we were given the information that their system was over booked, so we had to share a single room our first night we were two people. The receptionist assured us that we could receive a refund in the morning. The whole process was very tedious and lengthy and we received different information from different people. They need to be more consistent with their policies and more professional when dealing with situations like this one.
Clean, good location, free coffee. Great value for money, good location and lovely staff. The room was small but it was all we needed, as we were sight seeing all day. Breakfast was also very good. Breakfast should have been part of the package instead of extra. Room is super clean Room was a bit small.
There was No cupboard. Bathroom was very organised. Bed was really comfortable. View from the window was incredible due to snow. We liked Breakfast buffet system. The rooms are small and if you are sharing you both have to get out of the same side of the bed. You only get one pillow. Really good value breakfast for Norway with plenty of choice. Excellent location in the centre of Tromso you can walk everywhere including from the Hurtigruten terminal.
The single room was a bit small and no closet or place to store your suitcase so it became cramped pretty quickly, Also, the staff weren't the friendliest of people. Great location and rich breakfast buffet. There was nothing I didn't like. It was perfect for what I wanted. Friendly staff, warm, informal, free coffee or tea. Breakfast was really nice and plenty of choice. An excellent stay and I would stay there again. The rooms are very small and plain. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

There is free tea and coffee all day and guests can bring in their own food, take aways etc. Very helpful, especially as eating out was quite expensive. Very good location to easily walk around Tromso, The room was very clean, with all the basics you need. The free Tea and coffee were very welcome and the staff were exceptional especially when helping booking activities. Loved breakfast and the option of being able to have a light soup for dinner. The staff were excellent, very helpful and kind and it was nice that they seemed to be there all the time.
The room was small. Bed against the wall is difficult for two to access. Not a good idea for a double bed. The hotel has a decent breakfast but not too exciting. Plenty of hoods help with organizing. I liked the lobby and staff. Easy to enter with bags and fast efficient elevator. Coffee was always there and there is plenty of room to charge and use digital devices.
Modern look is a plus. Variety of guests with many younger people and has a bit of a Hostal feeling. Macha tea with other herbs was nice. Room too small. The bed is quite comfortable and the hotel location is ok for the main purpose that is chasing northern lights.
Perfeição - Mentirinhas
Very small room for this price. But I suppose this is what happens at a small place like Tromso during peak season. The TV didn't work at all either. Seemed like just a waste of space and just kept running ads of the hotel. Isabelle at the front desk was extremely helpful. The help yourself feature to the hot drinks too is useful.
The rooms are cleaned 3 times a week and for some people this might not seem enough. Great to know there was a hot drink waiting for you when you come in from the cold. Guests having use of the microwave, crockery, toaster and cutlery was also brilliant. Others in my party had the soup which they said was great. Location is great - once you've got your head around where the hotel is, everything is easy to reach.
The staff are very knowledgeable in my experience, very helpful with printing boarding passes, advising on busses and how to pay less for them! Definitely will be back! Room size is compact, though knew this in advance. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Pleasant common areas. Rooms are quite small and no real storage. Good shower, good breakfast which was relatively cheap in comparison to everywhere else. Stayed there over a long weekend and it was nice. Very quiet even though you do not have a view from all rooms. The rooms itself have a little bit the feel of being in a hostel not a hotel but they are very clean and the beds are very comfy.
The breakfast is good but not great, however, you can book without and enjoy in lots of other places around. The stuff is friendly and attentive. No storage in the room. A bit small room, if you plan to stay in the room during daytime. It has everything you need for a small room. Room is extremely small, two people with small luggage struggled. Just shower gel provided for the price, at least a shampoo would have been nice. Location, bed was comfortable and the breakfast is amazing and free coffee and tea all day.
Packed snow and ice on footpath outside and the smokers hanging around doors. Just enough room for me and my things, warm, clean and tidy, and friendly helpful staff. The check in process! There is no check in desk, the front door is locked and you need the pin code to access, they never gave it to me and I had to wait for 30 minutes outside in the cold waiting for someone to come out and I could get in.
Once inside I had to use the phone there to call the reception and ask them for my room number and pin code, which is good for entering the hotel and entering your room. The place is in a great location, walking distance to all the main attractions in Helsinki, and many restaurants and pubs just around the hotel, the room was super clean and the bed comfortable. Bed squeezed in end of room meant someone had to climb over the other person to get out of a double bed.
Found a large number of long black hairs all over the white bedding on arrival. Heated floor tiles in bathroom were very nice. The rooms are small and especially if you are sharing you can only get in one side of the bed. Excellent location in the centre of Tromso, very easy to get to from the Hurtigruten terminal. Easy access to shops and restaurants. Very quiet. Great breakfast. Also, they have an excellent breakfast! The guests can use also the tables, microwave, the hot water, the dishes to make your on food in hotel.
This is nice, so you can save money. All rooms have your own bathroom, with a good shower! So, for me and my husband, the size was fine! The staff are really nice and help us with maps and tips of the bus - the center city is small and easy to understand! The sink was tiny - hard to do anything there. Good location. Overall, great price for what it offers. Be aware that the room is proper small Breakfast rate was very high so we ate elsewhere each morning.
Some loud customers coming in on late night tours caused a restless night It is central, easy access for bus, places to eat, pick ups for tours. The staff were friendly. The free coffee was a real bonus for us, as it saved spending 30NOK a time at the local shop. We didn't eat breakfast so couldn't comment. Bed was small but comfortable. The only note to make is that it is very small. However this is not a 'do not like', it is just an observation. This is Clearly detailed when booking so was no surprise at all. The room itself was very clean and just what we needed. The staff are very friendly, unlimited access to tea and coffee.
Rooms are very cosy and warm. Rooms are too small for the price euros a night. We were in transit so we were okay, but it would've been difficult to stay longer. No space at all. In the center. The room was the smallest we had ever experienced. Just large enough to fit a small double bed, a very small table with chair, and a narrow path to the door. The bathroom was equally very small. The hotel is a couple minutes walking distance from the city center, where all tours depart and where all restaurants are located. Good shower, good quality bed although somewhat small.
Clubinho do Coala
Electric heating worked perfectly well for us to feel comfortable. The room was a bit too tiny.

The hotel has a top location. It is located closely to the city center and the river. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The cleaning day was just exchange the sheets, towels, some bathroom cleaning but no vacuuming. We had some cereals spilled on the floor, which was not vacuumed during cleaning.
Very close to city center. Walking distance from everything. The room is really small but has a comfortable bed, and it;s all you need for a good rest after a full day, Breakfast is good and substantial. You can have free coffee and tea, in the lobby all day. WiFi setup should be easier and faster speeds. Multiple sign ins should not be necessary. Sound insulation is a bit poor between rooms and hallway, but overall still okay. Free coffee and tea and access to microwave and other small appliances. Very helpful and practical. We would have loved a bath in the bathroom, though with the compact nature of the rooms this is an understandable oversight.

Jan 17, Jim rated it really liked it. I wonder who won Political Prisoner of the Year And yet I can only imagine how the father in this novel, K. Does she get a certificate or a medal or something? Will I need to buy a new suit for the ceremony? Why K.? I once read that the only author who could be recognised by a single initial was Kafka. Each one had had a number, tattooed on his or her arm. What is happening around him is something very different.
We learn this at the start of the book which does take the edge off a little because, as we watch the efforts made by K. We get to see inside rooms K. Apart from his daughter. Wisely, I think, Kucinski keeps her out of the narrative. Guilt is a major theme to this book. What could he have done to change things? Intellectually he realises this has been to protect him but emotions run high at times like this.
What if? Thousands vanished in Chile and Argentina. If only K. This is a powerful book because it humanises its subject. He was even worse yesterday. When I said we had to get rid of her, he swore at me, said I was a brute, a coward, that anyone who hurts a dog is a coward. I almost said to him: and what about those who are fucking killing these poor students? No romance, o autor acompanha a jornada de seu pai, o K.
Ficamos cegos; totalmente alienados da realidade". Jan 04, Luiz Oliveira rated it really liked it. Of the lamentably few contemporary Brazilian novels translated into the English language, K is certainly one of the most important to emerge in recent years. Un text fascinant i aparentment sobri sobre la kafkiana cerca d'una filla desapareguda per part del seu vell pare, en la terrible dictadura brasilera, i dels perversos mecanismes d'aquesta per seguir impune. Nov 19, Claudia rated it it was amazing. Genial, genial, genial.
K uses the same multi-narrated structure but rather than characters the stories are about people living under the repressive military dictatorship of Brazil amidst the Cold War. Through his desperate search and a series of fragmentary stories of citizens embroiled in a repressive hell, we are transported to a horrendous and terrifying period of history, to a country shrouded in fear and suspicion; we feel it all.
All the worry, all the fear, the suspicion, the hope, the hopelessness, the loneliness, the exasperation, the desperation, the anger, the guilt and the sorrow. It is an absolutely astounding work - incredibly powerful and well put together; these fragmentary stories Kucinski assembles are so well blended that they embody the whole life of a nation and time in a way that means you cannot help but understand the hardships faced. Ela estava certa. Conhece teus hojes. Enxerga teus ontens. Ficamos cegos; totalmente alienados da realidade, obcecados pela luta armada.
Relato de uma busca. Muito bem escrito. Apr 04, Garret Shields rated it really liked it. Great in both English and Portuguese. And, a really insightful look into this tragic episode of Brazilian history, the military dictatorship of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It shows how the deceit, torture, and murder affected individual families. Part-fiction, part non-fiction, this book is amazing, but not for the faint of heart. Feb 10, Felipe Lozano added it. Sad and enlightening.
